1 我们的太阳系共有8颗行星，按照距离太阳由近到远的顺序为：水星、金星、地球、火星、木星、土星、天王星、海王星。

2 太阳系8颗行星绕太阳运行一周所用的时间不同，距离太阳越近运行越快，越远运行越慢，具体数值为：

水星：88天；金星224.7天；地球365.2天；火星687天；木星4331天，约12年；土星10747天，大约29年；天王星30589天，大约83年；海王星59800天，大约164年。

3 水星是太阳系中个头最小的行星，其直径为4879千米，比月球大一点，月球的直径为3476千米。地球直径为12742千米。一个地球大约能装下18个水星。

4 水星的英文为Messenger，在希腊、罗马神话中，是信使之神。

5 水星上白天温度会升高到酷热的430度（这是摄氏度，华氏度为800度），夜间则降到零下180度。其他行星都不具备如此剧烈的温度变化。但水星不是温度最高的行星。金星上的平均温度为464度，超过水星的最高温度。
